Spring is about fresh beginnings. If you are in the market for a new property, now's the time to jump into the process.
On the other hand, if a new property isn't on the horizon, there are plenty of ways to revitalize your current home – and without living in a construction site for weeks.
Rarely is our dream Saturday spent ripping out tile and vanities. Instead, update the bathroom with a quick trip to your favorite home goods store - and a screw driver, of course. Switch outdated fixtures for sleek metal upgrades. New shelving, a coordinated towel bar, and a statement mirror can modernize the entire room minutes!
Technology streamlines our work lives, but also can make it impossible to leave work at the office. It becomes important to have a clean, organized, and dedicated home-work space to maximize efficiency while making the space inviting. To achieve this, try simple updates - or the unusual. Hit a local thrift store and trade your traditional Office Space desk for a vintage oak table. Don't need a lot of work surface? A high vanity and matching chair could work. Work in pops of color with fresh flowers, or pick up an over-sized faux potted plants at your local Ikea. Go ahead and splurge on desk accessories that pull the whole thing together and say “This is where I mean business!” An energized room will make those early mornings less painful.
Living and Family Room
When your living room is covered with yoga mats and kids' toys, it becomes nearly impossible to decompress. Our favorite seasonal freshen-up is over-sized, colorful baskets, a centuries-old, cross-cultural solution to clutter. They make for instant quick-clear. Color coordinate with a statement rug and you've got an instant update. Hello Spring!
(P.S. Don’t be afraid to pick bold accents. Sites like Pinterest are a great way to find inspiration!)
